Adela Akers

Adela Akers’ work is both simple and complex. Characteristically woven of fine linen and horsehair, narrow strips are sewn together to form a unified whole. She uses subtle color relationships that shimmer and glow. The horsehair adds internal structure plus gives each piece a provocative and mysterious surface, which creates an illusion of movement and space.
