To experience Cindy’s work is to take a journey through time and enjoy a few moments with the people who inhabit famous paintings in the history books of art. Her concepts and images are at once humorous and poignant. Women’s issues are among her favorite topics. “Women are idealized as warm and caring individuals, and I feel that the tactile threads and stitches echo that vision.” Cindy’s needle is her paintbrush, thread is her medium and the sewing machine is an extension of her arm. Her imaginative designs are elegantly captured in her refined painterly stitching.
