Charlene’s meticulously woven tapestries are a combination of weaving and embroidery. Each tells a story. “My narratives record the life I observe around me. However, just as stories go through a metamorphosis each time they are told, mine evolve during the weaving.” Her weaving process is complex and appropriate for the edgy multilayered stories the artists is telling. She gathers up bits and pieces of the everyday, transforming the many fragments into a meaningful tapestry.
