Debora Muhl

Muhl says her first passion was music; her work contains an obvious rhythm and harmony echoing that passion. The carefully coiled rows of sweet grass, which is gathered by Native Americans on the coast of Maine, gracefully move in and out and around to form beautiful sculptures. Muhl occasionally incorporates soft colored nylon ribbons to further accentuate the organic curves of the piece. The aroma of the sweet grass remains indefinitely in each basket.
