Jenna’s
affinity for the natural world is evident in all of her work.
Her material of choice: handmade paper and treasures from
the environment; small worlds that offer new views of common
elements, such as a shell or seed pod. The majestic natural
colors and textures of her hand-made paper are the underlying
foundation of each work. “The pieces have become containers
of meaning as well as of matter. Natural objects that are
incorporated into these small environments, exist both as
themselves and as metaphor much as do the images in haiku
poetry. A kind of visual haiku results, offering a focus
for contemplation.”
