Jiro Yonezawa

Bamboo is the primary material used by Jiro, who was trained as a basket maker in Japan. His lyrical delicate baskets are meticulously constructed using traditional Japanese techniques combined with local materials. His work is a careful synthesis of the Japanese aesthetic and American innovation. “These baskets represent a search for the beauty and precision in nature and a way to balance the chaos evident in these times.”
